Indianapolis Area Sailing
Updated December 20th, 2009 | No Comments »Sailing is prehistoric. However racing sail boats did not become competitive until sometime in the 17th Century. In 1851 a challenge to an American yacht racing club in New York led to the beginning of the America’s Cup. The New York Club won the initial challenge and went on to win each Cup until 1983.
